Mr. Talal Kamal Shair Chairman, Dar Al-Handasah (Shair and Partners)

Talal Shair, Dar Al Handasah’s (Shair and Partners) Chairman, was born in Beirut; he is the son of Dr. Kamal A. Shair of Jordanian nationality. After completing his high-school education at IC, he attended Princeton University in New Jersey and graduated in 1988 with a Bachelor in Civil Engineering. In 1988, Talal Shair joined Dar Al-Handasah (Shair and Partners) first as an active member of its Structural Department and later as the department’s director after earning his Masters in Structural and Geotechnical Engineering from Cornell University in New York in 1995. Upon his return from the United States, Talal Shair branched out into different roles, undertaking key responsibilities and heading up various departments. In 2000, he was elected Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors, in charge of general management and operations as well as of overseeing subsidiaries of Dar Al-Handasah worldwide. In 2008, he took the role of Chairman after his father’s passing.

In addition to his work at Dar Al-Handasah, Mr. Shair is on the Advisory Council of the Business Administration School at the American University of Beirut since 2003 and is a member of the Board of Trustees of the International College, Lebanon. He is also a member of the Young Presidents Organization and a founding member of BADER Young Entrepreneurs Program and Chairman of its Building Block Fund (BBF), a community of inspired and committed young business leaders engaged in supporting young entrepreneurs and promoting small businesses, the first such endeavor in Lebanon.
